About the Penelope B. Foundation, Inc.
 
The Penelope B. Foundation, Inc. was officially and legally founded by Penelope Bellerjeau in Pennsylvania at the age of 15, making official a mission she had already been living since childhood.
 
At just 8 years old, Penelope began organizing youth outreach efforts — from feeding the homeless to creating spaces of kindness for others. What inspired her was not ease, but challenge. For nearly a decade, from ages 8 through 17, she endured relentless bullying. Rather than letting those experiences define her, she used them as fuel to prove her own strength and to remind others of theirs.
 
Her personal phrase, “Be Good to You,” became both her anchor and her message to the world. It reminds young people to care for themselves, recognize their worth, and choose kindness — even in the face of hardship.
 
Today, through Artsy Square and the Penelope B. Foundation, Inc., her mission continues: to Create Opportunities, Open Doors, and Spread Encouragement for youth and teens.

Penelope’s story is living proof that while some say “hurt people hurt people,” she embodies a different truth: hurt people help people.
